HISTORY

The Collegium Vocale di Crema was founded in 1994 by its director, Giampiero Innocente. The choice of repertoire has always been oriented towards sacred music with a view to guiding listeners to embrace the eloquence, emotions and meanings of ancient liturgies.

The Orchestra was born in 2005 and comprises professional and non-professional musicians fromall around the Lombardy region. That same year saw the dawn of a long tradition of hosting English College choirs and also exchanges that have taken the Collegium on tour to England and Scotland. The Collegium Vocale di Crema has also collaborated with artists from a musical and theatrical background during its numerous performances across northern Italy.

To its credit, the Collegium has held hundreds of concerts and performances, as well as masterclasses and seminars with illustrious guest conductors. The main repertoire for both choir and orchestra is classic-romantic.
