Who we are


    Collegium Vocale di Crema was founded in 1994 by its director Giampiero Innocente.

    Since its foundation the choice of repertoire is focused on sacred music in an attempt to bring the listener to experience the emotions and meanings of the ancient liturgies. The Collegium Vocale has made numerous performances in northern Italy, collaborating with artists in music and theater. In the fall of 1998, he founded the Section of Gregorian Chant.
    In January 2000, the Collegium Vocale was released by the Swiss Television (CSR) part of the soundtrack of a film dedicated to the figure of S. Francis.

    Since 2003 he has started the recovery of scores of German music of the nineteenth century remained unexecuted: this research has led to the recording of two CDs dedicated to the figure of Robert Führer in 2004 and 2008.

    In March 2005, Vatican Radio has devoted an entire program to the ensemble Crema.

    In June 2005, the Collegium Vocale started the tradition of hospitality of choirs in Anglo-Saxon with the choir of the Royal Holloway University of London, Ensemble Gombert Melbourne (2006), Robinson College, Cambridge (2007), the Pembroke-Brasenose College Oxford (2009), the Somerville College, Oxford (2010), King’s College London (2011), University of London Chamber Choir (2012), St. Andrews Renaissance Singers, University of St. Andrews (2013) and Robinson College Cambridge directed by Tim Brown (2014).
    From 2005 to 2008, the Collegium was the protagonist of the series “Advent Wreath”, sponsored by the City of Milan, with three concerts in the Basilica of San Marco.
    In 2006, the Collegium Vocale of Crema performed the Mass KV 259 by Mozart in the Karlskirche in Vienna, as part of the Mozart and the following year gave a tour of three concerts in Cambridge, England.
    In September 2008, the Collegium Vocale of Cream performed for the second time in the modern era, the Mass in C Major by Antonio Rosetti (1750-1792).
    In 2009 Collegium Vocale has dedicated a series of concerts in the great work of Mendelssohn’s “Lauda Sion”.
    In October 2010 (for the second time after 2007) the group Crema gave a performance in the Cathedral of Bressanone.
    In the autumn of 2011 were performed Vespers K339 Mozart: one of these concerts was organized by the Diocese of Crema for the restoration of the Cathedral.
    The musical program of 2012 has seen at the center of numerous performances of sacred music Collegium Vocale Romantic (Mendelssohn, Schubert, Rheinberger, Lachner).
    In the June 2013 Collegium Vocale  gave a tour of  two concerts in Scotland (St. Andrews University and Perth Cathedral) with succesfull and wonderful rewievs from the big audience people.
    In December of the same year was performed in 3 concerts the ”Litaniae de venerabili altaris Sacramento” of Mozart.
    2014 was devoted entirely to “Jubilaeum 20″ celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Collegium Vocale di Crema. Four wonderful concerts (including three with the University of Pavia Orchestra “Camerata de ‘Bardi”) which were attended by about 1,500 people, have celebrated two decades of life of the largest musical ensemble of the Province of Cremona.
